Dr. Roman Sadikoff
I am Dr. Roman Sadikoff, a proud 1997 graduate of University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, residency at Medical College of Ohio and several associateships, I have established a private practice in Chesterfield in 2003.
I am an avid believer in airway-centric dentistry and orthodontics. That means that at the very first appointment with a new patient, both adult and pediatric, we assess their nasal breathing. Compromised nasal breathing can lead to problems like snoring, clenching and grinding, jaw pain, headaches, and most importantly, obstructed sleep apnea. In children it will delay not only the skeletal development, but also cognitive. Symptoms like snoring, bed wetting, and ADHD-like symptoms are prevalent in children with mouth breathing, especially at night.
Your mouth is connected to your body and so it should be treated as such. Identifying mouth breathing habits as early as possible in life will help prevent our patients from suffering from more complex illnesses later in life. My mission is the education of adults and children alike. I spend time helping my patients decide what is right for them. My essential task and responsibility for patients is to walk away from dental appointment understanding not only the state of their oral health, but also the state of their essential function of breathing. You will know how to help yourself and your child have healthy beautiful smile and a healthier and stronger body. Implementing additional services such as myofunctional therapy, orthodontics and anti-inflammatory diet will prevent our young patients from suffering the consequences of sleep breathing disorder later in life.
Besides general dentistry, I am addressing the problems that have to do with:
- Mouth-breathing
- Growth and development in children
- Sleep-disordered breathing in children and adults
- Jaw joint related disorders
- Headaches and jaw pain
Watching my own child suffering from a breathing disorder made me realize that this is something I want to be able to help him with. Close to twenty years ago I began attending seminars trying to learn anything and everything related to his condition. And I never stopped learning since. I was fortunate enough to meet great practitioners and mentors along the way who spent the time and energy to teach and share the information. After completing a mini-residency at University of Tennessee on Treatment of Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders and Craniofacial Pain, and I am now dedicating a large portion of my practice to airway-focused dentistry. I am proud to represent TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centres International as one of their locations throughout the world.
Many thanks to all my patients who put their trust in me to not only treat their teeth and gums, but also their overall health.
